Parent Teacher Organization

The Parent-Teacher organization of Putney Central School consists of parents and staff members who volunteer their time to help provide curriculum enrichment opportunities for PCS students.

Current activites of the PTO include:

• International Studies Program. Since 1999 the PTO has sponsored all-school investigations of the arts, religions, cultures, language and customs of Asia as a whole, of Africa as a whole, Central America as a whole, and of Japan, Thailand, and China.
• FOX: Fun Outdoor eXploring was named by the students at PCS for the nature in the classroom program. The book Hands On Nature is used to teach the theme for each year. The themes are: Adaptations, Habitats, Cycles, Designs of Nature, and Earth & Sky. As a student goes through the K-4 years they encounter all of the themes in the program. We try to have as much of the program as possible be exploring outside and taking trips to our fields, garden and the school forest.
